Sherman Engineering

Education: Bachelor of Science from Wilkes University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Minors in Engineering Management, Mathematics and Physics.

While attending Wilkes University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I stayed active in the local community with activities such as E-mentoring, Habitat for Humanity and my personal favorite, the Society of Women Engineers. When I had the necessary curriculum requirements under my belt, I earned my E.I.T. (Engineer in Training) license. After passing that exam, I took the best job I could find related to my field of study. I worked as a Mechanical Designer for one year at NewAge Industries/AdvantaPure. There I learned the skills I needed to become a Technical Sales Engineer within the same company. During the next year, I slowly built relationships with representatives from over fifty accounts I oversaw.

After much debate, I was forced to make a life-changing decision two years into my career. I needed to determine if I wanted to be an Engineer or a Salesperson. Eventually, the field I worked so hard to learn won. Today, I work as a Project Manager at Sherman Engineering and am simultaneously pursuing my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. In a few years, I will qualify for my P.E. (Professional Engineer) license and become both the Regional Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region and one of only two P.E.’s on staff.
