Kimberly Lawrence is Deputy General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer with American Eagle Outfitters, Inc (AEO) in Pittsburgh, PA. AEO is a global clothing and accessories retailer with approximately 40,000 employees in North America, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Kimberly is the lead employment attorney with responsibility for domestic and international HR-legal matters.

In partnership with Human Resources and senior management, she advises on a myriad of legal matters, including claims and investigations involving Title VII discrimination, sexual harassment, disability and leaves of absence, wrongful termination, reductions in force, co-employment, restrictive covenants, wage and hour violations, complex offer letters and separation agreements, among others. She also manages employment litigation, including class actions.

In 2014, Kimberly was named as AEOs first Chief Compliance Officer, in which capacity she partners with key internal business stakeholders to collaborate and update enterprise risk and compliance initiatives (anti-corruption, anti-bribery and third-party risks, etc) including investigations, training and global policy updates. Previously, Kimberly was Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she advised Human Resources and senior management about HR-legal matters for the Broker-Dealer/Wealth Management business between 2005 – 2012. Between 1997-2005, Kimberly was Vice President & Senior Counsel with Keybank National Association in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1995, Kimberly began her legal career as a litigation associate with the law firm, Thompson Hine, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kimberly is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a B.A. in International Studies, Spanish Minor.
