Haeshah Z. Cooper is the Director of Communications at Manchester Academic Charter School (MACS). Haeshah graduated from Claflin University with a Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communications with a concentration in Print Journalism and a minor in English, in 2009.

Haeshah is originally from Columbia, South Carolina. Haeshah was the President of the Mass Communications Society and is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Immediately following graduation, Haeshah moved to Pittsburgh to obtain her Masters of Science in Community Leadership from the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement at Duquesne University, in 2012. During her tenure at Duquesne University, Haeshah was a Community Engagement Scholar, where she explored all avenues of community leadership with students while they engaged in different service-learning projects within the community.

She utilizes her extensive education and knowledge of mass media and manages MACS’ social media, newsletter content, internal and external communication needs, along with bringing her eye for creativity to life with different programs and projects. Prior to joining the MACS family, Haeshah was the Communications and Special Projects Manager at Urban Innonvation21, where she managed all communication efforts, website content, event planning, and special projects.

Haeshah is extremely passionate about education, community engagement and involvement, human rights, equal rights, and economic empowerment, just to name a few. In recent years, Haeshah has served as the Marketing and Outreach Chair and President of The Pearl Club, a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, CORO Pittsburgh: Women in Leadership (Cohort 17), and serves on the Advisory Council for the Education Committee for the Pennsylvania Diversity Council.
