Born in India, Apurva completed his studies to be an Electrical Engineer in 1992. In 1997 Apurva left India, and his job as the engineering manager in a Steel Plant and immigrated to America to pursue a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering starting his journey as a student, and a janitor, at the Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.

After graduating with a 4.0 GPA in 1999, Apurva pursued career as the control systems engineer at Fortune 500 companies; first at Caterpillar in Peoria, Illinois and then at Seagate Technologies near Boulder, Colorado. Three solo patents, multiple control systems designs for Hard Disc Drives and an outstanding invention award later, he decided to explore project management at Seagate. Over next few years as the project leader for control systems development, Apurva would help the team launch several high intensity projects worth several hundred million HDDs sold worldwide.

This experience, and drive for results, enabled Apurva to take on a management role as the Director of New Product Development at one of the subsidiaries of Danaher, Inc.; another Fortune 500 company. Eventually in 2015 he landed in his current role as the Vice President of Engineering and Quality at Drexelbrook, Ametek near Horsham, PA.

During the course of his almost thirty years career, Apurva had a great experience and appreciation of working with a diverse workforce that brings the best of the world’s talent to our great nation, our educational institutions and our leading edge corporations.

Believing that education is the cure for most of world’s challenges and that it’s important to give back to community, Apurva serves as a member on the Advisory Board for Penn State University’s Great Valley campus in Mervin, PA. Here, he is helping the campus understand how to enhance overall experience of students. Apurva’s next wish is to work on promoting STEM education; especially through Robotics. Stay tuned.
