Born in Newark, NJ, I attended high school at Newark Academy in Livingston, NJ. Originally a pre-med major, I graduated with a B.A. from Georgetown University in 1990 with a major in Psychology, minor in Government. While selling a briefcase to a lawyer during my junior year of college, I discovered that not all lawyers argue cases in court. So, I decided to attend law school and focus on corporate law, and graduated from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1993 with the intent to practice entertainment or sports law, as music and sports are my two passions in life. The best career advice I received was from the first African American female partner at a major Wall Street law firm and she told me to become a good lawyer first, make connections along the way, and then branch out into a specialized field once I had sufficient experience. While my career has at times been involved in both entertainment (we represented both an entertainment focused internet company and regional radio stations across the country) and sports (we represented the MetroStars, now known as the New York Red Bulls) law, I trained as a corporate and securities lawyer in both large and boutique law firms in NY and NJ. My in-house career has seen the extremes of privately held start-up companies to now publicly traded corporate giants, but through it all I have always remained open to exploring any opportunity to learn a new industry. So when I heard about the opportunity to work in the hotel industry in the fall of 2006, I took a chance and have now been working at Wyndham Hotel Group since February 2007. After handling solely the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand in the US as Senior Counsel, I became Vice President in 2010 and now specialize in hotel franchise, management and operations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. I currently reside in Bergen County, NJ with my 5 year old daughter, Reese, and my parents.
