Terri Merlino serves as Chief Credit Officer at New Penn Financial where she is responsible for formulating, directing and leading the credit culture of the company. In this role, she fosters strong quality and constant operational improvement: improving efficiencies and performance, and streamlining operations. Prior to joining New Penn, Ms. Merlino served as Senior Vice President, Credit and Operational Risk at PHH Mortgage, responsible for fostering a risk- aware culture through her leadership of all aspects of credit and operational risk management. Ms. Merlino’s 21-year career at PHH Mortgage also included leadership roles in Sales, Processing and Underwriting Operations as well as nine years in various roles in Secondary Marketing. She received the PHH Woman of Excellence Award for her role in the redesign of the Loan Processing Center and the creation of the PHH Women’s Leadership Council. Prior to joining PHH Mortgage, Ms. Merlino was a member of KPMG’s audit practice for 9 years. Ms. Merlino received her BBA from University of Houston and was awarded her CPA in 1986. She currently serves as President of the American Cancer Society South Jersey Region Board of Advisors and is Vice President of the Eastern Division Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society.
